Job Description

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality projects that exceed our clients' expectations. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a HSE Advisor. This is a project-based position located at Valentine Gold Mine in central NL. You will report directly to the Corporate HSE Manager while working collaboratively with project site teams to support the day-to-day HSE activities and initiatives.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with field personnel to ensure the company’s safety culture and vision are understood and practiced with focus on continuous improvements • Assist in development of SWPs, JSAs, ERPs, Traffic Plans, and Site-Specific Safety Plans. • Conduct safety and environmental orientation and job site inspections and reporting. • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices along with corrective actions. • Ensure compliance with all projects and company reporting requirements. • Manage safety training requirements, detailed training matrix and related information. • Provide input on additional required training and education based upon audits and project/company safety reporting. • Manage incident investigations, near miss reporting, and perform in-depth root cause accident and incident investigation when required. • Perform other related duties that correspond to the overall function of this position
Qualifications • Minimum of 5 years’ field experience preferably in the construction industry • Must have knowledge /training of OHS Act and Regulations and industry best practices. • Working towards certification, or already certified, as an Occupational Health and Safety Professional. • Skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within the health and safety fields. • Ability to adapt to and learn new software. • Proficient computer skills • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work in remote site conditions and adapt to a rotational work schedule. • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driver’s abstract. • Pre-employment background checks will be required which may include employment verification, employment references, education/certification check, and criminal record check. • Pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening will be required.
