Job Description
JCL Investments Inc is a heavy civil construction company with offices in Corner Brook and CBS. We are currently accepting resumes for a Quality Control Engineer for work at Valentine Lake Gold Mine in Central Newfoundland. This is a project-based position with a current rotational schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and maintain project specific quality program
• Ensure successful planning of project quality functions and application of quality program to satisfy requirements of contract documents and company standards.
• Liaison with jurisdictional authorities, third party inspectors and outside agencies/organizations as necessary.
• Ensure quality program is communicated and administered efficiently and effectively.
• Provide technical assistance to company personnel in the application of quality program and client specification requirements.
• Progress corrective action requirements as directed by owner and from audit findings to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Familiar with using and following Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s) developed for each project.
• Coordinate the audit/inspection program, collect results and identify trends.
• Coordinate, prepare, complete required documentation in support of quality programs and ensure they follow contract documents and quality program.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Heavy Civil Construction
• Knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of quality programs
• Planning, attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driver’s abstract
• Pre-employment background checks will be required which may include employment verification, employment references, education/certification check, and criminal record check.
